What Is Rabies?
Rabies, although uncommon, is a severe infection usually spread through the bite or scratch of an infected animal. Once symptoms appear, it is almost always fatal, but vaccination and prompt treatment can effectively thwart its progression. Protect yourself and get vaccinated.
Who Needs The Rabies Vaccination?
We advise booking an appointment and getting the rabies vaccination if you fall into any of the following groups:
- If you are traveling to regions where the disease is more prevalent, such as Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.
-
If your work puts you at risk of disease, this includes laboratory staff, animal quarantine personnel, veterinarians and their staff, and wildlife workers.
- If you’ve been exposed to the disease, getting the vaccine can prevent symptoms. Seek medical help immediately if you suspect exposure.
