What Is Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE)?

Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a viral disease transmitted through tick bites. Infected ticks are present in certain regions of Europe, including the UK, as well as in parts of Asia such as China. However, the likelihood of contracting TBE in the UK remains very low.

Whilst your chances of getting the infection in the UK are low, these chances can greatly increase if you visit areas where the infection is more widespread.
