Japanese encephalitis is a serious infection. Whilst rare, you can catch the infection from mosquito bites in certain parts of the world.
Reports claim that there are between 30,000 and 50,000 deaths globally caused by Japanese encephalitis.
Are you travelling somewhere where there is a risk you could catch the infection? If so, we advise getting vaccinated before you travel.
